MS Finnmarken is a hybrid-powered expedition ship offering year-round Signature voyages along the Norwegian coast between Hamburg and the North Cape. Originally launched in 2002 and refurbished in 2020 with natural Scandinavian materials, the ship was further upgraded in 2025 to enhance its pool deck and sustainability features. It combines modern comforts—such as a wellness area, hot tubs, panoramic lounge, and three distinct restaurants—with a proud maritime legacy, having sailed as MS Otto Sverdrup from 2021 to 2025 before reclaiming its historic name.
On board, guests enjoy a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, with access to a fitness room, sauna, and outdoor observation areas perfect for taking in the Arctic scenery. The ship’s Expedition Team enriches the journey with lectures, hikes, and onboard activities that connect guests to Norway’s rich culture and nature. MS Finnmarken is also equipped for shore power and uses battery packs to reduce emissions, making it one of Hurtigruten’s most environmentally conscious vessels.
